The point at which the external power is connected to a heating element, commonly made of nickel plated mild steel. Can be threaded as 4BA, 2BA, M4, M5, sometime plain pin. This pin continues into the heating element by a defined distance (referred to as the Cold End) where it is joined to the resistance wire of the element by welding.
